"The Wizard of Oz"

The Backstage Theatre in Breckenridge is seeking men, women, and children for their
Labor Day weekend production of L. Frank Baum’s "The Wizard of Oz".
This is the Royal Shakespeare Company version with music and lyrics from the MGM motion picture score
by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg. Book adaptation is by John Kane.
This production will be directed by Wendy Moore, who founded the Backstage at the Riverwalk program.
Musical Direction by Caroline Foley. Orchestra tracks by Donna Debreceni. Choreographer is Dustin Murphy.
All roles are available. Seeking all principle characters (Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Wizard, Wicked
Witch, Glinda, etc.) and chorus members. Men, women, and children to play Munchkins, Monkeys, and Winkie
Guards, etc. (Need not be cowardly nor a lion to apply...) Seeking trained dog to play Toto.
Also seeking volunteers to help with backstage running crew, flying, set construction, costumes, props,
and special effects.
Auditions will be held at the Breckenridge Theatre,
121 South Ridge Street
in Breckenridge, on Sunday, May 4 from 12pm to 6pm.
Children (under 18) may audition from 12pm to 4pm.
Adults may audition from 4pm to 6pm.
Please prepare a verse and chorus from the musical. Bring sheet music if you have it. Prepare a two minute children's
story told as a character from the play (i.e. The Wicked Witch telling a bedtime story). Be prepared to dance.
Rehearsals for "The Wizard of Oz" will begin in early July 2008. Performances are over Labor
Day weekend, August 29, 30 & 31 at the
Riverwalk Amphitheater, located at
150 Adams Avenue
in Breckenridge, Colorado.
