IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE - A LIVE RADIO PLAY

The Backstage Theatre is seeking performers to bring the Frank Capra classic, "It's a Wonderful Life", to life onstage.

To be cast: two women, age 18 to 50 years old (to play several parts) and four men, age 16 to 60 years old (to play several parts).

Idealistic George Bailey considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve, and in looking for a miracle, he finds it with the help of his family, friends, and a cock-eyed angel named Clarence.

Please prepare a one-minute monologue (can carry script for audition and read from written text). Be prepared to deliver the monologue in several voices. Multiple personalities a plus!

Adapted by Joe Landry, "It's A Wonderful Life - A Live Radio Play" is acted out as an old-time radio show, where the actors read from scripts and play multiple roles, morphing seamlessly into the characters they represent. Backstage artistic director Christopher Willard is the director.

Auditions will be held at the Breckenridge Theatre, 121 S. Ridge Street in Breckenridge, on:

Saturday, September 13, 2008
10am - 1pm

and

Sunday, September 14, 2008
6pm - 9pm

Rehearsals for "It's a Wonderful Life - A Live Radio Play" are scheduled to begin on September 27 and are flexible with actors' schedules.

Perusal copies of the script (which is very faithful to the Capra film version) will be available beginning September 8 from all Summit County Libraries.

Performances are November 28, 29, 30, December 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, and 28. All positions are paid.

Please call (970) 453-0199 to make an appointment for an audition time or for more information.
