Auditions & Workshops
* FREE Auditions Workshop *
Calling all actors - experienced to novice!
The Backstage Theatre in Breckenridge,
Summit County's theatre for the community, is offering a series of free audition workshops,
October 23 & October 30, 2010.
The workshops, to be conducted by award-winning Backstage artistic director
Christopher Willard, are geared for all skill ranges. Whether you've played leading roles
or have always wanted to try your expertise on the stage, this is the perfect opportunity to
hone your skills. If you fear auditioning or desperately need to lock-in that perfect monologue to
show what you can do, this is the workshop for you.
The workshop will be divided into two sessions. The first is an exploration inside the
process of auditioning - including preparation, choosing material that's right for you, developing
your cold reading skills, and what you need to do to make the very best impression. The second
session will allow participants to present their audition pieces in a mock audition, with
discussion and constructive critique. The workshops, open for ages 12 and up, are great
preparation for upcoming Backstage auditions (auditions for the upcoming holiday show
are the first weekend in November).
The first workshop session will be conducted on Saturday, October 23rd from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
The second session will be held on Saturday, October 30th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
Both sessions will be held at the Breckenridge Theatre, located at
121 South Ridge Street, Breckenridge, Colorado
Please bring writing materials and a monologue you would like to work on.
