Theatre Skills Camp

Students Entering Grades 1-4: June 10th-14th 

Does your child have an interest in being on stage and the “Star of the Show”? Our Summer Theatre Skills Camps will give them the tools to be successful and confident on stage. Through fun and entertaining group games and activities, campers will be introduced to a variety of different skills including stage basics, voice/music, movement/dance, audition skills, personal confidence and stage presence.  

 

Meets Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 3:00pm

$240 per camper

Class Limit: 15 Students

They will need to bring a snack, lunch and water bottle.

 

Fantasy Fairy Tale Play Creation

Students Entering Grades 1-4: June 17th-21st

Campers will work together to create and perform their own fantasy fairy tale.  Building the story one sentence at a time, the final fairy tale is sure to be full of hilarious twists and turns. Campers will perform their creation for family and friends on the last day of camp!

 

Meets Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 3:00pm

Friday – Pizza Party at 3:00pm and Final Performance at 4:00pm

Phantom! The Tale of the Phantom of the Opera

Students Entering Grades 5-8: July 8th-19th

In this two week camp, students will rehearse and perform Phantom! The Tale of the Phantom of the Opera– a play by James Geisel based on the classic characters from The Phantom of the Opera.  We’re excited to have our students spend two full weeks developing their characters in this brand new play, with a full performance on the last day of camp! There are six characters in the play, so we will have two separate casts. Everyone gets a part!

Final Performances at 3:15pm and 4:30pm on July 19th

  

Improv Acting Camp

Students Entering Grades 6-12: August 5th-9th

Improv is a form of live theatre in which the plot, characters and dialogue of the scene are made up in the moment. Students will learn and build new skills and perform this unique technique both individually and in groups.  No previous improv experience is required.

6 Week Professional Workshop

Students Entering 9th to Freshman Year of College

Taught by Nathan Autrey, Artistic Director

MFA in Directing from Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University

BFA in Acting from University of North Texas

 

For students that are serious about wanting to pursue an education in performing arts. This 6 week professional workshop will assist you in the development of your audition portfolio.  This will include resume development, selections of comedic and dramatic monologues, and selection of signature song choices for musical theatre auditions.  There will also be conversations about what to expect in college auditions, how college arts programs typically work, and what life is like as a performing artist. There will be assignments to complete outside of class. 

 

Workshops will be held from 3:00pm-5:00pm on the following Mondays:

July 8, 15, 22, & 29

August 5

KidsPlay Directed by Cara Janes.

Cara Janes is a recent New York City transplant. She studied ballet at San Jose-Cleveland Ballet School, The Washington School of Ballet, and American Dance Institute before attending Ursinus College where she majored in both Dance and International Relations. While attending Ursinus College she studied under Cathy Young and Chris Aiken, broadening her dance education to include modern, contemporary ballet, jazz, and contact improvisation. She also attended Headlong Performance Institute in Philadelphia where she delved into Lecoq clown, Commedia dell’Arte, neutral mask, and more generalized movement work. She also has experience in musical theatre, choreography, stage management, and directing.
