DESCRIPTION:

Breckenridge Backstage Theatre is looking for a dialect coach for our production of Murder on the Orient Express.

Housing in Breckenridge for tech rehearsals will be provided, if you do not have local housing in Summit County. 

Dialect coach must be available for 3-5 in person rehearsals, tech weekend, and at least 1 preview. A specific schedule will be agreed upon with the director. At the discretion of the director, zoom rehearsals and feedback will be required.

Monday-Friday 3:00-10:00pm

Saturdays 11:00-6:00

Job Description

– Coach the actors through the dialects that are required in the show: French Dialect, Scottish Dialect, Hungarian Dialect, English Dialect, Turkish Dialect, Midwest Minnesotan Dialect
– Analyze the script to determine the necessary accents based on geographic region, time period, and social context/class.
– Provide the actors with videos or recordings to practice with. Provide the proper IPA for the dialects if that is helpful for the actors.
– Attend rehearsals to give notes and ensure that the accents are consistent though the different scenes of the show.
