DESCRIPTION:

Breckenridge Backstage Theatre is looking for a director/choreographer for their production of the musical Meredith Wilson’s Miracle on 34th St. The theatre is located in Breckenridge, CO, with Producing Artistic Director Jacqueline Stone.

Housing in Breckenridge for all rehearsals and tech will be provided, if you do not have local housing in Summit County.

Director must be available November 7 (off 26-28 for Thanksgiving) through December 13.

November 7-December 3 (no rehearsal on Nov. 26-28 for Thanksgiving)

Tech/Dress: December 4-8

Previews: December 9-10

Performances: December 12-20

Production Schedule

Load In/Tech/Dress Rehearsals: Dec. 4th-8th, 2026

Preview Nights: Dec. 9 & 10, 2026

Opening Night: Dec. 12, 2026

Performances: Dec. 13 – 30, 2026

– Create a unique artistic vision, tone, and style for the show.
– Work with set, lighting, and sound designer to align visual and technical elements.
– Be present for the show’s production meetings.
– Choreograph and teach the choreography for the musical numbers in the show.
– Work with BBT’s artistic director to cast the show.
– Block scenes, choreograph musical numbers, and guide the actors in their choices in the show.
– Maintain communication with the musical director, stage management, and the BBT team.
– Maintain the highest professional and artistic standards as a representative and leader of Breckenridge Backstage Theatre.
